M&C Upcoming events (connected to Minute 12.03)
- Friendly Eights: We suggest that Friendly Eights dinner be planned early in the New Year.
- Fourth Sunday in December will be a presented by Heidi and Ruth. We’ll experience ‘All-Inclusive First Day School’ following the format of what our youth experience, including Sharing Time and Centering with candles, a story and a craft (a take home present!).
- State of Society: Upcoming fourth Sunday in January will be a reflection on the previous year in order to write our State of Society report.
- Peace Testimony: February will be on the inward and outward dimensions of the Peace Testimony.
- Christmas Eve Caroling: Ruth is determining interest in Christmas Eve Caroling at Havenwood (4:30 p.m.) and short programmed worship at the Meetinghouse, followed by a potluck. YRE has some suggestions for program.
- Alternative New Year Eve Game Night: Ruth and Greg will plan and promote an Alternative New Year Eve Game Night Party from 6:00 p.m. – 10 p.m. (or earlier) at the Meetinghouse, inviting the public.
Solar Committee Developments (connected to Minute 12.05)
The committee does not need action by the Meeting but wants to report that the transition of all aspects of the system ownership are nearly complete.
1. We await word from the Department of Energy and Unitil that the transfer of registration number for a Group Net Meter (GNM) Arrangement from Oxbow Solar to the Meeting is complete. It has been applied for and approval is a clerical task.
2. The GNM Agreement has been updated from the original between Oxbow and the members. The agreement will be between the Meeting and the members of the Group Net Meter.
- There were a number of changes including tightening up some of the language for clarity.
- New terms, happily agreed to by the group members, will result in delaying the time when members will receive quarterly monetary benefit from the array income until after the Meeting has received sufficient income to pay for it's $18,000 investment in the system, which included the $3,500 prepaid solar asset line item. You may or may not know that the original expectation was to receive the system as a gift after about year 10. Group members understood that changing circumstances made this new arrangement reasonable and fair.
- It is expected that the delay in payments to members will be approximately 4.5 years or 8 years from now.
Website Committee Purpose (as revised & approved in Minute 12.07)
The Website Committee is responsible for the maintenance of the website. This includes the site’s outreach function, recording Meeting Minutes and other key documents, access to the newsletter, and maintenance of our archives. The committee’s intent is for a website that is accessible, can be maintained by members and attenders of the meeting, and for the existing web presence, links and references we have built to be preserved.
