Weekly Work
at Concord Friends Meeting
Members and attenders of the Meeting use this list for internal communication. Anyone, new attenders included, can use this list by following the link above to sign up and contribute your labor. The calendar list provides a column for each of the regular jobs we do.
Anyone can sign up using the web to be a teacher helper, elder transporter (Susan and Lois), child care provider during business meeting, or a closer. But...
Some jobs are not open for sign-up. We list these for informational purposes: The greeter job is assigned by Ministry and Counsel Committee and is reserved for members of the Meeting. The teaching jobs are assigned by the Youth Religous Education Committee and require attendance at a training course in the Godly Play curriculum.
Anyone with questions should speak with a member of the Meeting or email the clerk: clerk [at] concordfriendsmeeting [dot] org.
HOW TO USE OUR ON-
Anyone having diffiuclty using this sign up process is invited to email the Clerk with their name, date of volunteer service, and activity so your offer of service can be posted. Choices for service are: teacher helper, child care during business meeting, transport of Susan or Lois, and closing.
We are using a shared Google Document. Anyone who has access to the internet can edit this document. One does not need to have a Google Email account (Gmail) in order to establish access to Google Documents.
- If you have a Gmail account, follow the link at the top of this page. The document will open and you may edit it by entering your name at the correct point in the grid of jobs and dates. Once changes are made they are saved automatically as you leave the document.
- If you do NOT have a Gmail account, you must first establish access to Google Documents. Go to this address: https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount. You may click here or cut and paste the address to your browser. Note it is https, not http. (The ‘s’ is for ‘secure’.)
At this web page you will use your own existing email account address as a username to access many Google features…among them is Google Documents. Create your account. It’s a very quick process. This does require you to give your birthdate. There is info available there regarding privacy and why they require this information. You are not required to give any other personal information, such as even your name.
- Once your account is established, click on the link to the Service List at the top of this page. The document will open and you may edit it by entering your name at the correct point in the grid of jobs and dates. Once changes are made, they are saved automatically as you leave the document. While the page is open you may want to bookmark it to return easily without having to go through this web site.
