Please help with Closing

Only a set number of members/attenders are volunteering to close the Meetinghouse after a Meeting for Worship /other activity and we need a few more to help.  It is done in pairs and usually takes about 20-30 minutes and is only about once every other month.  Contact Jennifer S. or reply to this Newsletter if you can give some service.

Thank you.

Pathfinders

The Pathfinders have completed their second full week and are now in full swing.  The Childcare Planning Committee is continuing its work as we address issues that come up.  It's natural to have a period now as we adjust to them and they adjust to us.  Please let the committee know of any concerns that you might have.  The committee members are Dave, Elaine, Greg and Ruth.

Update from Geothermal

Friends should know that our plan is to plant Winter Rye in the exposed and degraded earth that has resulted from the well drilling.  Winter Rye is an annual crop that fixes nitrogen and gets turned into the soil in the Spring adding much needed organic matter to that area.

As we awaited some of the elements of the new heating system and scheduling with UltraGeothermal, they called late Thursday to ask if they could start our install on Friday. What a delight. They will take 2 to 3 days to finish their work. By midweek this coming week we should have our new heating system in service.

Fundraising Update

The ad hoc Committee has submitted a second grant application to the Obediah Brown Fund. Please contact either Ruth H. or Dave W. if you want more information or have questions.

The righteous laws of nations are superadded to the moral law, not substituted.  All our duties as members of churches, as citizens of nations, are based upon our duties as members of the human family, and stand for those higher duties consequent upon closer relations. They can never release us from the fundamental duty of a sense of universal brotherhood.
