Fall Back, DST Ends Saturday

Hope to see you all at Meeting at the correct hour!

Fall Cleanup, Nov 21

We had some discussion of doing our fall cleanup this coming Sunday, but that won't be possible due to organizing constraints. Please plan to join us on the Third Sunday of the month after meeting. Bring a lunch or a snack and some work gloves, rakes and leaf blowers (electric or battery powered only please). Most of the work needed is outdoors so appropriate outerwear will be needed. There will be indoor work as well. To get all the leaves up will likely take more time that the 20 minutes we usually spend, but any time you can give will be most appreciated.

Umokuumani: Celebration of African and Black immigrant communities in NH.

We are invited to "Umokuumani: Unity, Creativity and Faith" at the Dover Meetinghouse on Sat Nov 6 at 1pm. This celebration of African and Black immigrant communities in NH is sponsored by AFSC-NH, Black Lives Matter-Seacoast; and Manchester Action Coalition. Enjoy an afternoon of free food and drinks, art and music. The event will feature a dance performance, a fashion show, and a showcase of community resources and immigration information. The event will also include powerful stories and artwork from the Familias Separadas project. All are welcome!

BLESSING THE BODY

This blessing takes

one look at you

and all it can say is

holy.

Holy hands.

Holy face.

Holy feet.

Holy everything

in between.

Holy even in pain.

Holy even when weary.

In brokenness, holy.

In shame, holy still.

Holy in delight. Holy in distress.

Holy when being born.

Holy when we lay it down

at the hour of our death.

So, friend, open your eyes

(holy eyes).

For one moment

see what this blessing sees,

this blessing that knows

how you have been formed

and knit together

in wonder and

in love.

Welcome this blessing

that folds its hands

in prayer

when it meets you;

receive this blessing

that wants to kneel

in reverence

before you—

you who are

temple,

sanctuary,

home for God

in this world.

Who writes: "Friends may wish to know of two booklets recently added to the website for download.

Both are oriented toward Recording Clerks and Recorders. They're both out-of-print and very hard to find on the used-book market, but much referenced. In fact, I got my copy at NEYM annual sessions at Bryant College in 2011, and haven't seen it since. There is a scanned PDF of Before Business Begins on the NEYM website, but I indexed the one that's on our website."

It appears that the link to the recommended webinar below was in error when announcements were sent on Wednesday. It is fixed here.

Dave W referenced his experience participating in a webinar about the book, A Deep Presence, 13,000 years of Native American History. Highly recommended and available on YouTube click here. The book itself is available on Amazon. It can be found here. Obtaining it through your local bookstore may require a wait as we see it is backordered when we search through independent booksellers.
