DOVER QUARTERLY MEETING of FRIENDS
Attending at Weare Meeting – Quaker Street, Henniker, NH
31st July 2016
Following worship and Sunday school with Henniker Friends, Agneta Injairu, a Friends woman pastor from Malava Yearly Meeting gave a talk about what it is like to be a woman growing up and living in Kenya and other gender issues..
Present at business meeting were: Concord Meeting- 2; Gonic Meeting -1; Dover Meeting- 0; N. Sandwich Mtg.- 0; Souhegan Allowed Mtg- 0; West Epping Preparative Mtg.-0; Weare Meeting-5; plus the visiting Friend from Kenya.
2016-07.1 Previous minutes Previous minutes were read and approved.
2016-07.2 Recording Clerk for the day Due to the lack of a recording clerk, Marian Baker took minutes for the day.
2016-07.3 Appointment of new treasurer Due to resignation of the previous treasurer it was approved to appoint Muriel Farrar as Dover Quarterly Meeting Treasurer. She is authorized to sign all checks and delete the name of William Woodward from the list of signatories at this time.
2016-07.4 Nominating Committee JJ Smith reminded us that this was her last meeting as clerk . After a long discussion about how to reorganize our Quarter and find someone to be clerk, we approved appointing Sara Smith, Muriel Farrar, and Marian Baker as a nominating committee. They are asked to consult with Friends from the meetings that were not present at this meeting, and to come with a proposal of how to move the Quarterly Meeting forward, consider a structural review of the Quarter and its functions, and come up with names to consider at our October 30th Meeting.
2016-07.5 Next Meeting We decided to try to hold our next meeting at Dover if possible.
2016-07.6 Appreciation to outgoing clerk Friends expressed appreciation for JJ Smith's travels to each meeting, her help with North Sandwich and her attempts to revive the Ministry and Counsel of the Quarter.
2016-07.7 Appreciation to Weare Meeting Friends also expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality of Weare Meeting.
We adjourned purposing to meet next, if way opens on 30th October 2016.
