Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends
Third Month 10, 2013
Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting gathered in Meeting for Worship for Business. Those present were: 9
3.1 The meeting opened with a period of silent worship.
3.2 Second Month Minutes: Friends reviewed and approved the minutes from Meeting for Worship for second month.
3.3 Financial Report: The Treasurer shared the financial report and balance sheet through the end of February 2013. The Budget Committee will be preparing a draft of the FY 2013-2014 budget in the next few months. Friends are asked to work with their committees to anticipate financial needs for the coming year and to pass this information on to the Budget Committee.
3.4 State of Society 2012: Review of the State of Society report for 2012. The meeting reviewed and considered a draft of the State of Society report offered by the Ministry and Counsel committee. With some changes, the meeting accepted this document.
3.5 Youth Religious Education Committee Report: The YREC is working to develop programming for the growing number of children who have been in attendance. They are currently planning an intergenerational spring party for the meeting and invited Friends who are interested in helping to come forward.
3.6 Canterbury Town Support: Friends were asked to consider the possibility of offering payment to the town of Canterbury as an expression of thanks to that community for supporting our Meetinghouse and community in the form of road support, fire and police protection, etc. Friends were in support of this proposal but remain unclear as to how to calculate an appropriate payment, though $1,000 per year rose as an amount with which Friends expressed comfort. The Budget Committee was asked to continue with this discernment process and return to the Business Meeting with a specific proposal.
3.7 Business was concluded with a brief period of worship.
Respectfully submitted,
